Spring weddings are always beautiful but often at the mercy of the unpredictable British weather. Luckily for Kate and Alastair it was a glorious sunny day when they wed at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead.
Kate got ready at Malmaison just over the water in Newcastle upon Tyne. She and her bridesmaids were relaxed in the penthouse with glasses of bubbly and baby to keep them company. Back at the Baltic Alastair and his groomsmen were enjoying the sunshine on the balcony. I got to find out what (not actually Scottish) Scotsmen keep in their sporrans (spoiler: skittles and whiskey), and then had to run my fastest back over the Millennium Bridge as it was due to lift any second. I got a nice round of applause from both sides of the water and can guarantee you I won’t be doing that again any time soon. Ah, the trials and tribulations of a wedding photographer!
Back in Newcastle Kate, her bridesmaids and her father posed for some photos by the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, and we enjoyed the walk (a sensible pace this time) over to the ceremony.
The ceremony was lovely, afterwards we went straight for formal photos, confetti, and the bouquet toss. Do keep an eye on the photos to see how it landed!
We took some shots around the Baltic and then everyone got to enjoy the drinks reception. After some wonderful relaxing there were speeches followed by the meal. It would have been great to have stayed longer and witnessed the first dance but then I am an old romantic at heart and I love a good first dance photo.
So there you have it. I hope you enjoy looking through Kate and Alastair’s Baltic Centre Wedding Photos. Xx
