South Causey Inn Wedding Photography – Rachel & Scott
Rachel and Scott had a gorgeous Alice in Wonderland themed wedding at the South Causey Inn in Stanley. It was a beautiful day in in April, and the sun shone down on the happy couple.
The South Causey Inn is a great wedding venue. It is beautiful, well themed, close to nature, and has nice open interior spaces. It can host small weddings through to huge celebrations. It’s definitely one of my faves. As anyone will tell you, I’m a big fan of pub weddings and the South Causey is not only a pub, it also does it’s own gin. What’s not to love?
Rachel started her day getting ready with her bridesmaids and her mam in one of the lovely airy suites. Her dress was perfect, and she had chosen to have her hair loose for her big day. It’s not often you see that, but Rachel wanted to look like herself and rarely wears her hair up. I like that approach: look like the best you that you can be!
Rachel’s brother gave her away in a ceremony that took place in a cosy room filled with friends and family before they had drinks, photos, speeches and dancing.
A Beautiful Backdrop For A Beautiful Couple
The stunning flowers added pops of colour throughout the photographs. I’m particularly a fan of the sunflowers, they’re such a great statement!
The lake at the top of the hill was a fabulous backdrop for photos of just the bride and groom. I’d been wanting to use if for ages but as it’s a bit of a walk it’s been too long out of the day for other couples. Rachel and Scott were game though, and we got some great images.
Speaking of which, one of the nice things about the sun setting early (even in April) is the chance to get some stand out sunset pictures. We decided to do this with the whole bridal party. Who could say no to that? It’s a really impressive effect, and it just uses an off-camera flash while the light is fading. It really works, don’t you think?
After the speeches and the formal photos the happy couple had their first dance. It had been an incredible day and they partied long into the night.
