South Causey Inn Wedding Photography – Nicole & Craig

There are so many ways to make your wedding unique to you and totally fabulous. Nicole and Craig decided to give their wedding that extra special something by tying the knot on Bonfire Night. Now that’s got style!

Nicole got ready in one of the themed rooms at the South Causey Inn, before walking down the aisle in the Old Barn . The Old Barn is actually a brand new renovation but if you write ‘the new old barn’ that just reads terribly! Craig and his army of groomsmen looked sharp in their blue suits and, despite being November, the weather was great. It was the first time I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the Old Barn and I sincerely hope it isn’t the last. The building is lovely but the views outside looking over County Durham are wonderful.

After formal photos the drinks reception continued in high spirits. So much so that the poor doggy was roundly ignored when he was asking to be let outside. So he let himself go all over the floor instead. I’m particularly pleased with the reaction shots. It’s always the unscripted things that people remember the most! Like the revelry in one of the guests’ rooms (I’m not sharing all of those, they may be a touch uncompromising/unflattering!), the dance moves, the jokes and all the silliness that made up an incredible wedding.

To put the icing on the cake it was Guy Fawkes night. One of the really nice things about getting married ‘out of season’ is that it gets dark early. It might be cooler than the summer months but you can’t get fantastic sparkler shots in August.
