Vermont Hotel Wedding Photography – Haisu & Yuanyu
Haisu and Yuanyu got married in January at the Vermont Hotel in Newcastle City Centre. The Vermont Hotel is a lovely location, with beautiful views overlooking the Tyne. It was converted into a 4-Star hotel in 1993 and is situated on Castle Garth next door to the remains of a Norman Castle. With the city proper just a hop, skip and a jump away, the opportunities for lots of beautiful photos were there for the taking!
I had originally been booked to cover the wedding ceremony through to the evening reception. However, some surprise visitors from China put the permissible number of people in the ceremony room over the maximum. It was a shame not to be able to cover the ceremony itself but I resolved to make it up to them with additional photography around the city.
We met at Grey’s Monument, one of the traditional meeting places in the city centre. The statue (random trivia!) is dedicated Earl Grey of Earl Grey tea fame. A local asked us why in the world we were taking wedding photos in the city. Why? Because it’s a beautiful city to get married in of course!
We walked down Grey Street, pausing at the Arcade and Theatre Royal to enjoy the view. I captured the wonderful feature image for this collection at the next intersection. We then walked down Dean Street, towards the Quayside before turning round to meet their guests back at the Vermont Hotel. As always The Vermont Hotel was warm, welcoming, and inviting. The guests were treated like royalty – champagne no less – and the live band were excellent.
Please enjoy looking through Haisu and Yuanyu’s lovely low-key and intimate wedding day.
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Yang. It’s been a great pleasure.
