St Lawrence Gold Maple Syrup and Honey - Food Photography
One of my favourite things is when people ask me to do jobs that have been on my wish list for forever. Hardly breaking news, I know, by photography is my job, my hobby, and my passion. Following closely on the heels of photography is my love for food. I love cooking, developing recipes, reading about food and ingredients, and trying to push the boundaries of all things food related. It makes sense then, that two of my big goals have been to photograph a cookbook, and to do some professional recipe development.
The cookbooks I’ll dive into deeper in another post, but I was over the moon when St Lawrence Gold asked me to develop some recipes for them, take the photos, and complete their next round of product images.
Being vegan, I use maple syrup a lot in my cookery, so it was easy enough to pull up any number of recipes I’d already worked on and tweak them just for SLG. Then I got to try the products and Oh. My. God. I cannot tell you how good their maple is. I know I’ve worked for them but I promise you this isn’t a sponsored post. It’s SO GOOD!
At the time of writing this blog, my images and recipes aren’t live, but I promise to link to the recipes as soon as they’re up because you really need to try the sweet and spicy crispy baked cauliflower bites. I absolutely outdid myself there.
The smoothie bowls were also pretty damned special, even if I do say so myself.

Has a pretty good ring to it, huh?
I think the only downside to this job is that I am now utterly spoiled and couldn’t imagine eating a different brand of maple syrup.
